Program Description:
**The Lifeline and 988 is a Confidential Service. 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. This dialing code is available to everyone across the United States. HOPELINE, Text HOPELINE to 741741 Spanish Line: Linea de Prevenión del Suicido y Crisis (888) 628-9454 When calling 988, press 2 to connect to a trained Spanish-speaking crisis counselor. When texting 988 in Spanish, type "Ayuda" 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free, confidential suicide prevention hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. By dialing 988, the call is routed to the nearest crisis centers providing crisis counseling and mental health referrals day and night. If you are hearing impaired, there are several ways to contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Lifeline Options For Deaf + Hard of Hearing For TTY Users: Use your preferred relay service or dial 711 then 988. If you are hearing impaired, and a veteran, service member, or any person concerned about one, there are several ways to contact the Veterans Crisis Line. To text with a Veterans Crisis Line responder, send a text message to 838255.
