Program Description:
Adult Protective Services,(APS) assists older adults (age 60 and older) or at risk adults (age 18-59 with a disabilty), who may be victims of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation or self-neglect. Calls are kept confidential.
This unit is responsible for investigating and intervening in cases of abuse to individuals at risk. This unit also initiates guardianship and protective placement for financially eligible, adults who are unable to care or make decisions for themselves and are at risk.
APS staff can assist with the providing information about and drafting of Power of Attorney for Health Care, by referral. Please call for information and a referral.
