Automotive Repair-Community Service

Students in Gateway’s Automotive Technology program provide reduced-cost auto repair work to members of the community. If your car or light truck is 10 years old or newer and needs a repair that aligns with the course curriculum, you may be eligible for a service with fees as low as $30 plus the cost of parts needed. If applicable, there will be a $15 battery disposal fee. Gateway does not dispose of old tires. If your tires are replaced, you must take the old tires with you. Possible areas of assistance may include: Brakes Heating & Air Conditioning Engine Cooling Chassis & Accessory Electrical Alignment & Suspension Minor Engine Repair Engine Performance & Emissions Manual Transmissions & Clutches Automatic Transmissions Allowing Gateway students to work on your car saves you money and provides future leaders in the automotive industry valuable experience. All requested repair projects will be reviewed to determine if they meet the educational requirements of the Automotive Service Simulation class. Gateway reserves the right to only accept repair projects they feel are suitable for the class. All work is done at Gateway’s Horizon Center for Transportation Technology and is by appointment only. You will be contacted by the lead faculty with regards to the status of your request. NOTE: Gateway Technical College, staff or students, will not be held responsible for valuables/items missing from this vehicle. Please remove all important items from vehicle prior to dropping off for servicing.
