Program Description:
Be My Eyes started with a simple idea: to make the world more accessible for people who are blind or have low vision through the power of connection. FREE mobile app establishes a live video connection between blind and visually impaired users and sighted volunteers to solve challenges both big and small. Be My Eyes users can request assistance in over 180 languages making the app the biggest online community for blind and low-vision people as well as one of the largest micro-volunteering platforms in the world! The website includes stories of users, features and examples of how people with low vision can make the world more accessible thru the power of connection. Check out the Be My Eyes Podcast, and the That Real Blind Tech Show podcase for full discussions about the good and bad of assistive technology. Also connected to Innosearch.ai : Shop everything from kitchen tools to flights on the first online shopping platform built specifically for the blind and low-vision community. Available in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US.
