Program Description:

Housing Assistance Program: Assists low-income Wisconsin residents at risk of homelessness with a security deposit when required to move, delinquent rent, mortgage when at risk of foreclosure, and delinquent property taxes when at risk of losing their home. Offers one-time payments to ensure a long-term difference in achieving housing stability for renters and homeowners. Please go to our website for full program criteria and details of the assistance offered.
Application Guidelines
- Do not have funding for hotels/motels.
- Serve 69 counties in Wisconsin. We do not have funding for Dane, Racine, and Milwaukee Counties.
- Applicants must be under the 80% County Median Income.
- Housing must be affordable going forward.
- Unable to offer delinquent rental assistance for those in Section 8 or Subsidized Housing.
- Must have income or proof of potential income-this includes unemployment, child support, or other sources.
- If you are applying for social security disability or other benefits, you must submit an award letter.
- If delinquent due to theft, you must submit a police report with the application.
- If delinquent due to other expenses, submit receipt(s) with application.
- Security Deposit assistance: must have a valid reason for moving.
- You can only receive help from this program once a year from the date of your last approval.
- Applications are typically processed within 5 business days.
CDBG-CV Program: Assists low-income rural Wisconsin residents at risk of homelessness. Can help with past due: rent, security deposit, and utilities.
• Unable to offer assistance for those in Section 8 or Subsidized Housing
• You do not have to have an income
• We cannot serve clients who live within the city limits of the following cities:

Beloit
Eau Claire
Fond du Lac
Green Bay
Janesville
Kenosha
LaCrosse
Madison
Milwaukee
Neenah
Oshkosh
Racine
Sheboygan
Superior
Wausau
Wauwatosa
