Serves 3 years old to 75+ years young. GLASA supports athletes with primary physical or visual disabilities, such as amputation, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, stroke, visual impairment and more.
Varies, call for details. No one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay, and no prior experience is needed to join GLASA recreational or competitive programs. With 20+ adaptive sports to get involved with, there is something for everyone.

Program Description:
Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) is an independent sports organization for individuals with physical or visual impairments. GLASA offers variety of opportunities for those who want to practice competitive sports and for those who wish to participate in recreational sports. Peer monitoring program for youth and adults who have recently been physically and/or visually challenged. Sports offered are aerobics, boccia, bowling, basketball, dance, goal ball, hockey, judo, scuba diving, soccer, swimming, tennis and track and field.
EQUIPMENT LENDING PROGRAM
-Play wheelchair basketball on the playground, go for a bike ride in the forest preserve, or take on a 5K. GLASA offers an equipment lending program giving athletes access to adaptive equipment whenever needed.
Prior to equipment lending, athletes must meet with GLASA for a fitting, use training and safety briefing. For more information, please contact by email or call 847.283.0908.
