Program Description:
Legal Action provides free civil legal services to persons who meet our income, priority and special grant criteria. Depending on the status of funding available, Legal representation and assistance may be provided to eligible persons in various areas of law such as:
- Consumer Law (Payday Loans, eviction, utility issues, etc.)
- Driver's License recovery
- Goverment/Public/Health law
- Licenses/Criminal records and employment
- Family Law, for domestic abuse victims, we work to help the victim become safe *call for full details.
- Migrant (Madison office-Migrant Worker Issues 800-362-3904)
- Senior Law
- Elder Rights Project: free civil legal service to victims of elder abuse, age 60+, Wisconsin resident, call 844-614-5468 for details.
- Social Security
Legal Action does not handle criminal, Selective Service, school desegregation, redistricting, class action, welfare reform, abortion or fee-generating cases. Legal Action can, however, refer persons with these cases to lawyers who may be able to help them.
