Program Description:
Kenosha County is now offering permanent locations for residents to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medication. This is an effort to prevent prescription drug abuse and accidental poisonings in Kenosha County as well as help protect local waterways. Complete list available online: https://www.kenoshacountywi.gov/2071/Safe-Medication-Disposal-Sites Acceptable items for drop off are: -Prescription medications -Over-the-counter medications -Ointments and creams -Pet medications -Sprays -Liquids -Inhalers Items that are NOT ACCEPTABLE are: -Bio-hazardous materials -Needles/sharps/syringes -Illegal drugs Dispose of medication by keeping medication in the original package or bottle. Cross off any personal information on the container and disposing of it directly into the Medication Drop Box. Note: Sharps Disposal Sharps are NOT allowed at the permanent medication collection sites.
