Program Description:
Responsible for receiving, screening and investigating statewide allegations of caregiver misconduct, (abuse or neglect of client or misappropriation of a client's property) by credentialed, non-credentialed caregivers, and professional staff from all DQA regulated facilities. OCQ documents findings and facts to determine whether a finding of misconduct can be substantiated against the accused caregiver and then enters the substantiated findings on the Wisconsin Caregiver Misconduct Registry. OCQ is responsible for conducting caregiver background checks on owners, board members and nonclient residents of regulated facilities at the time of license application or change and at least once every four years after that date. https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/publications/p6/p63159.pdf Assisted Living, SHC list, Hiring Caregiver
