Program Description:
Information about safely disposing of sharps is difficult to come by and often misunderstood. SafeNeedleDisposal.org provides a one-stop shop for people to learn how to safely dispose of used sharps wherever they are. Access the website to search for local disposal options. - To assist patients with managing and disposing of used sharps, many pharmaceutical companies offer mail-back programs, which are often free of charge. Other companies provide FDA-cleared containers to patients who use medications that require sharps. Access this website for a list of mail-back and container programs you may be eligible for, as well as contact info for patients to enroll in a program. https://safeneedledisposal.org/solutions/pharmaceutical-programs/ **Please note that the patient must be actively taking the injectable medication and use the sharps container provided by the company to be eligible for each mail-back program.
